What is an active ingredient?
An active ingredient is any component of a drug product intended to furnish pharmacological activity or other direct effect in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, or to affect the structure or any function of the body of humans or other animals.
For a list of the FDA’s OTC (Over-The-Counter) active ingredients please visit https://www.fda.gov/media/75750/download. This link is to be used as reference only and may not cover all active ingredients. It is the responsibility of the shipper to be aware of the ingredients that are being shipped.
For this reason, our policy moving forward will be anything that falls under the FDA that is not non-perishables foods such as canned goods, chips, cookies, etc. are not permitted to be shipped under section 321.
CrossBorder Pickups will continue FDA shipments for non-perishables foods as listed above with Prior Notices only. All others will not be processed unless cleared by a broker.
If you are not sure if your product has any FDA-regulated ingredient, then it is your responsibility to contact U.S. FDA and make sure it is safe to ship.
